What this tool does

Spreadsheet Change Finder compares displayed cell values from two selected sheets using a unique matching column. It reports added and removed records, changes in selected shared columns, and added or removed headings. It compares cached formula results where available. It does not recalculate formulas, compare formatting or audit the workbook as a whole.

Check before acting

Results depend on your selected worksheets, header rows, matching column, comparison columns and normalization settings. Review the source records and exported report before making business, payroll, financial or other consequential decisions. An unchanged result applies only to the selected comparison scope.

Limits and availability

This version supports Excel (.xlsx and .xls) and CSV files up to 10 MB, with up to 10,000 data rows, 200 columns and 250,000 cells per selected sheet. Password-protected or unusual workbooks may not be readable. Availability and limits may change. No specific outcome or uninterrupted availability is promised.

Your files

You retain your data and are responsible for permission to use it. The application processes spreadsheet contents in your browser. You are responsible for protecting downloaded reports. The tool does not provide online backups.

Third-party software

Excel and CSV parsing and report writing use SheetJS Community Edition 0.20.3, distributed with its Apache 2.0 license. Practical Creator Studio is not affiliated with Microsoft or SheetJS.
